Success at The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards

BAM Nuttall has again been successful in The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards.  In the this year’s Green List, BAM Nuttall has moved up an impressive 34 places to 16th (50th in 2010) and just two places behind sister company BAM Construct who were 14th  (25th in 2010).
In the list, published as a supplement in the Sunday Times (12 June 2011), BAM Construct and BAM Nuttall are ranked 6th and 7th respectively in the top 10 for ‘bigger companies with high environmental impact’ and in the top ten list of ‘making an impact – environmental impacts decreasing’ BAM Nuttall were ranked 10th.

The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards were established in 2008 to recognise responsible business and environmental excellence. The league table is based on two different surveys. The employer survey covers among other things environmental management policies, environmental training, energy consumption, waste production and recycling. The second part is an employee survey where staff rate 52 statements from ‘strongly agree’ to ‘strongly disagree’ which accounts for 70% of the overall score.

This is clear evidence that our ‘Beyond Zero’ vision is embedded in company culture as a large percentage of the judging criteria were based on the attitudes and understanding of our staff.’
