Colin Evison in his role as Head of Innovation has been working with the RNLI Swanage team and a third party to produce a Virtual Reality (VR) model of the Swanage lifeboat station.
This was completed in first draft last Friday and the opportunity arose to show the model off to some of the attendees at the National Infrastructure Forum on Tuesday this week. It was an instant hit! Going down extremely well with all who visited the stand and was certainly a conversation point.
The model will help to showcase our project delivery capability to customers and enable them to communicate their projects to their various stakeholders in advance of the works taking place, which was very well received.
As part of this approach Colin had a number of ‘Google Cardboard’ VR headsets produced which were given away as freebies on the day. As the first in the industry to be doing this, we are leading the way and proving ourselves to be key innovators to our customers.
