 As part of the Royal BAM Group, BAM Nuttall, like all other group companies operating across the world, has placed the sustainability agenda at the forefront of its operations.
The groups guiding business principles align with the BAM Nuttall core values that have led the company to success throughout its 140 years existence.
Sustainable performance in respect of the people who work for the company, the environment in which we work and our economic success are embedded into the companies' vision and demonstrated by the characteristics of the company.
As you will see in this, our first sustainability report, everyone takes their personal and corporate responsibility very seriously. We are fully committed to: making our operations safer and incident free; taking care of the environment and the communities we work in; preserving the planets valuable resources reducing the impact of CO2 emissions and respecting and developing the careers and lives of everyone with whom we meet, from all races and backgrounds.
We work in an industry that could easily cause harm; we at BAM Nuttall are very conscious of the need to plan and execute our activities in a manner that is always considerate to what is around us.
We know that it will only be companies who recognise the importance of following sustainable policies that will survive and be successful over future decades. Increasing political and social demands for businesses to have strong corporate governance and sustainable business policies illustrates the changing world in which we live - a world that we aim to protect for our future generations.
The BAM Group, including BAM Nuttall has much work to do to meet all its aspirations. We have started our journey and intend to make substantial progress over the coming years. This report sets out the progress we are making thanks to the contribution and commitment of our entire workforce.
