Bird Island - South Georgia

Bird Island, South Georgia 2017-2018

We finished the first research station in June 2018, Bird Island. It was completed after an intense 17-week construction period, kept short to minimise impact on science projects and the local wildlife.

The project included an extension to the jetty and a new storage facility. It has made working conditions for research teams more efficient, with better facilities, improved access and easier logistics.
